When using freehand drawing of automation, the line itself
is not notified (no ::start_drag(), ::end_drag() calls).
This adds a end_draw() call which allows the AutomatioLine
to perform additional actions.
This is mostly a simple lexical search+replace but the absence of operator< for
std::weak_ptr<T> leads to some complications, particularly with Evoral::Sequence
and ExportPortChannel.
Copyright-holder and year information is extracted from git log.
git history begins in 2005. So (C) from 1998..2005 is lost. Also some
(C) assignment of commits where the committer didn't use --author.
Undo/Redo allows to change a region's envelope without the envelope-list
changing (AutomationList::StateChanged is not emitted).
This also catches other operations where region-length can change while
the Envelope is visible. -- Normally when using the range or object tool
to modify a Region, the Envelope is not visible.
Without this change it was possible that the GUI shows automation
points that don't have a corresponding libardour representation:
e.g. select range, change tool to "draw", press "s" (split), undo,
click on any region-gain point.
combines selection related editor properties with the current editor selection.
The related editor properties are:
mouse mode,
zoom setting,
left frame of the canvas,
y origin of the canvas.
Selection state now includes region views (storing the underlying region id)
and time.
This patch also fixes a region mute undo bug.
Show fancy values on generic GUI controls, automation lane controls, and automation lane verbose cursor.
Fix text display of midiNote values.
Make bigstep of midiNote parameters 12 (one octave).
Add ARDOUR::value_as_string() as a stateless one-stop-shop for value printing.
Remove Canvas::Layout, use Canvas::Container for the same purpose, move child-rendering into Item::render_children() so that it
could theoretically be used by any derived type.
at any given zoom level.
This works because (1) automation data is obtained by sampling, and we control
the sampling interval (2) automation data is filtered to remove co-linear
points before becoming part of a ControlList.
This commit removes some of the hairiest code in Ardour's GUI, which was
responsible for figuring out which invisible control points were affected by an
edit. The change is based on an experiment in mixbus done by Ben Loftis.

All #include statements that include a header that is a part of a library
bundled with ardour MUST use quotes, not angle brackets.
Do this:
#include "ardour/types.h"
NOT this:
#include <ardour/types.h>
Rationale:
This is best practice in general, to ensure we include the local version
and not the system version. That quotes mean "local" (in some sense)
and angle brackets mean "system" (in some sense) is a ubiquitous
convention and IIRC right in the C spec somewhere.
More pragmatically, this is required by (my) waf (stuff) for dependencies
to work correctly. That is:
!!! FAILURE TO DO THIS CAN RESULT IN BROKEN BUILDS !!!
Failure to comply is punishable by death by torture. :)
P.S. It's not that dramatic in all cases, but this (in combination with some
GCC flags specific to the include type) is the best way I have found to be
absolutely 100% positive the local ones are being used (and we definitely
want to be absolutely 100% positive on that one).

Things with automation parameters now inherit from Automatable, which handles serialization, fetching/adding/removing parameters, etc.
Use AutomationList everywhere instead of Curve, make Curve a member of AutomationList instead (towards other types of "Curve" needed for CC, among other things).
Work towards MIDI CC sending "automation" tracks.
