Part 1 of loading 2.X sessions; some things work, some things don't, hacks a-plenty.

LOADING 2.X SESSIONS WITH THIS COMMIT IN PLACE WILL (PROBABLY) CORRUPT THE .ardour FILE,
MAKING THE SESSION UNLOADABLE ON 2.X AND LOSING INFORMATION.
So don't do that unless you make a backup of the session file first.

more MIDI editing tweaks ; flip mouse mode buttons around for MIDI so that "object" mode is the most likely mode for both region \& region editing ; frame handle events (from lincoln's region trimming patch) are now handled more explicitly

Clean up range menu a bit. Make a couple of range actions happen to all tracks if no tracks nor regions are selected. Stop involvement of the edit point in those same actions as it doesn't seem to make much sense.

Merge edit and mix groups to just being route groups. Add properties to route groups to decide what things their member routes will share. Allow edits to happen across a route group without its tracks necessarily being selected.
